JUOTAVAN HYVÄ ETELÄ-PÄIJÄNNE

“Clear and Drinkable” is not just a marketing slogan: Over a million Finns are drinking the water of Southern Lake Päijänne through Päijänne Water Tunnel. The slogan was first introduced by the entrepreneur of Hotel Tallukka, Mr Mikko Kyöstilä, in 1994. In the same year strong co-operation began between Asikkala, Padasjoki and Sysmä municipalities and local tourism companies, and the regional tourism association Juotavan Hyvä Etelä-Päijänne ry was established.

Juotavan Hyvä Etelä-Päijänne ry is an association operating in the Southern Lake Päijänne area in the municipalities of Asikkala, Padasjoki, Sysmä, Hartola and Heinola. It is an association focused on the promotion of sustainable development and tourism in these municipalities and of companies working in the area. In addition, the area is also promoted in both domestic and foreign markets. The association coordinates tourism-related services and events and develops tourism in the area through projects. The association is comprised of 43 companies that operate in the tourism sector and comprehensively represent the area’s tourism facilities.
